Seven days of untouchability

Are you getting suspicious or must be thinking that what's this article all about so let me tell you categorically that this article is not about any Untouchables or Dalits or Adivasis, but this defines the treatment of untouchables, which we do with our women during those days when her body release the impure blood. Actually it has so many names, some calls it menstrual problems or some calls it periods but the treatment with women remain the same. When she reaches at her puberty age, she needs to be very careful about this so called problem as if this is not her body part. Women, the central character of  anyone's life must be thinking sometimes that why everyone is behaving so badly with her during those days, after all this the sign of good health. Don't go anywhere, shut your mouth and sit at home, no need to go anywhere. You are not supposed to go outside but why? are b'ba you're down with periods, don't ask too much questions ( Aaram se bolo nahi toh koi sun lega).What kind of mentality is that? it defines hypocritic mindset. And above all, some so called fringe groups call it Impurity ( women ), she is impure because she has the quality of releasing impure blood of her body through this process, but they fail to understand that she gives the birth to a child, the child grows up in her womb itself, so how can she be impure, but they think that this is a nature gift to her.

If this is the nature gift to her so menstruation is also a nature gift to her. If a women is pregnant then no one calls it, oh what is this impurity and when she has menstrual problem then everyone comes and calls her impure.

This is very unfortunate that on the one side they believe Goddess or on the other they disrespects women. In rural areas, never discuss this problem to her elder ones because of shame and hide it or keep it secret, that leads to a disease. If they do not live in good condition or do not use sanitary napkins then automatically that leads to a disease. Think about them, about their condition, how they face such situation or at the same time manage everything. She is a real hero of your home, support her instead of pointing a finger on her.
